how to reduce luminaire glare

If you are a lighting project manager, you must always be asked why the light is so blinding and dazzling, how to reduce the UGR(Unified Glare Rating) value.

At this moment, you may usually try to use a milky PC cover, as it is thought to diffuse the light evenly and make it more comfortable to eyes. However, the effect is not as good as you think, or maybe worse.

Do you really know the reason cause glare?

There are many factors related to the UGR value. Generally, the main subjective factors from a luminaire are total lumen, lighting beam angle, and lighting surface area. It is concluded:

-Higher lumen with higher UGR.

-Smaller lighting beam angle with lower UGR.

-Bigger lighting surface area with lower UGR.

With low UGR, the efficiency is still high up to 140lm/W.

Request IK10 to be used in sport field? Just remove the PC reflector, you will still get UGR<22.
