Recently, one customer asked us: “Does AGC know how to calculate Pst value (flicker)? That is the new issue here in Europe, and we need to be able to show that for our products in projects.”

Pst refers to the Perceptibility Short Term, the short term flicker “perceptibility” value Pst is calculated according to a statistical process over a standardized 10-minute observation interval. According to standard IEC 61000-3-3, it must abide to the limits Pst less than 1.0.

In the AGC lab, we have the test equipment that can measure the Pst value directly. Moreover, the flicker test is one aspect among various reliability tests during the new product development. Almost all AGC products are flicker free, the Pst value is very low.
