Why We Need Heat Dissipation?

Why are we paying attention to heat dissipation in the LED era, but seldom consider this issue for previous light sources such as incandescent lamp?

By touching with your hand, you can only draw two conclusions

  1. It's very hot → the heat dissipation performance must be poor.
  2. Not too hot → The heat dissipation performance may not be good either, as it may be due to the poor structural design that the heat cannot be exported. You think it's cool, but in fact, the LED has already suffered heatstroke.

Professional instruments for temperature rise testing

You can clearly know the temperature of each position during the operation of the lamp. But the disadvantage is that it needs to be sent to the laboratory, or you have professional instruments.

Half hour illumination method

Generally speaking, when the junction temperature of an LED (the temperature of the PN junction inside the LED chip, abbreviated as the junction temperature) increases, the luminous flux will decrease. So, we only need to indirectly measure the change in illuminance of the lamp at the same position to deduce the change in junction temperature (only the illuminance is needed)
