What is a Tri-proof light?

A Tri-proof LED linear light is an LED linear luminaire with three or more protective properties. Our newly designed Tri-proof LED linear light features water-proof, dust-proof, and corrosion-proof capabilities. Generally, it is used in parking garages, railway stations, refrigerator warehouses, airports, exhibition halls, and supermarkets, among other places.

However, there are other protective properties required in different environmental conditions. Here are six common ones:

1. Dust-proof: It refers to the protection of an interface against solid particles such as dust and powder.
2. Water-proof: It explains the protective capability of tested equipment against sprayed water from any direction, preventing harmful effects.
3. Corrosion-proof: It refers to the ability of a luminaire to resist corrosion.
4. Explosion-proof: The concept of explosion-proof does not mean that it can prevent or withstand an external explosion. Instead, it means that the equipment has the ability to prevent the generation of electric arcs, sparks, and high temperatures that could ignite combustible gas and dust in the surrounding environment. A luminaire with explosion-proof performance can be used in dangerous places where combustible gas and dust exist.
5. Moisture-proof: Moisture-proofing involves preventing water molecules from entering the equipment. Moisture, which exists in the air, is not as obvious as water.
6. Shock-proof: It refers to the ability of the luminaire to sustain minor impacts without being damaged, both internally and externally.

Definition of Tri-proof light

Although there are many well-known Tri-proof lights on the market, they are not clearly defined. Therefore, the definition of Tri-proof light can be divided into two senses:

The narrow definition of Tri-proof light: It refers to a light that features water-proof, dust-proof, and corrosion-proof capabilities.

Broad definition of Tri-proof light: Since different environments have different requirements, the protection properties may vary. These protection characteristics, such as dust-proof, moisture-proof, corrosion-proof, explosion-proof, and water-proof capabilities, are rigid requirements in some places. However, not every lighting fixture can have all these functions simultaneously. Therefore, relatively speaking, we name the light that possesses at least three special protection performances a Tri-proof light. This is the broad definition of Tri-proof light.
