
Before we choose to enter the solar street light market, there are 3 elements that we need to consider in advance.
1. Understand the annual solar energy distribution in the global
It’s obvious that the sunlight distribution is completely different. It means if you want to start a solar LED street light business, you need to know which country or area is more suitable to sell solar LED street lights. Choosing a good market makes you get twice the result with half the effort.


2. Lithium Iron Phosphate battery (LiFePO4 Battery) or Ternary Lithium?
Now our integrated solar LED street light has two battery solutions. Maybe you have a question about why we have these two? Let’s compare the difference between them.
- The material system of a LiFePO4 battery and a ternary Lithium battery is different.
- A LiFePO4 battery is a 3.2V voltage platform, with a cycle life of more than 2000 charges.
- The ternary lithium battery is a 3.7V voltage platform, and the cycle life depends on different manufacturers, different models, and processes, and generally, it is 500-800 charge cycles
- LiFePO4 batteries offer better high-temperature performance, while ternary lithium batteries have better low-temperature performance.

So if your project has ambient temperature below 0℃ in Winter, we suggest you choose the Ternary Lithium Battery solution.
Of course, I prefer you sell the solar street light to those place which temperature is above zero ℃ throughout the year, then you could choose the LiFePO4 battery solution, and the cost is cheaper than the Ternary Lithium Battery solution. Meanwhile, it could perform better and longer.
3. Hybrid Grid Complementary Solar LED Street Lights
With the ordinary solar street lights, they can’t solve the problem of light-off caused by rainy days and insufficient light. Especially in some high-latitude countries or areas.
In this case, we could consider a kind of solar street light with Hybrid Grid power complementary. Its main function is to switch to grid power when solar power is insufficient.

In this way, when experiencing a long rainy season or in areas with insufficient light at high latitudes, solar street lights can function well without the lights shutting down.
