How AGC Lighting Fixtures Solve the Problem of High Temperature Environment

High temperature is undoubtedly a major challenge for LED lighting fixtures.  

High temperature occasions can be divided into long-term high temperature or only a certain period of high temperature in the summer. 

Equipment such as steel mills, furnaces and boilers operate in high temperature environments for long periods of times, while the metal roofs of warehouses are exposed to short-term high temperature during the summer.

The challenge for lighting fixtures in high temperature occasions is that, on the one hand, high temperature will shorten the lifetime of fixtures (the LED chips will decay faster, and the service life of the driver will decrease sharply), and on the other hand, high temperature will lead to an increase in the failure rate of the fixture.

How does AGC solve this problem?

Before recommending lighting fixtures, it is necessary to know the project details of the customer.

  • Use place   
  • Whether there is a boiler and other high-temperature equipment 
  • Duration of high temperature   
  • Daily service time of lighting fixtures  
  • Luminaire power requirements
  • Lighting fixture installation position and installation height 

Common solutions to solve the problem of high temperature environment:

  1. Reduce the power of the lighting fixtures;
  2. Select the driver fitted with high Tc point and over temperature protection. Over temperature protection only makes the fixtures power down rather than directly turn off.
  3. Separate the driver, and the driver can be installed far away from the high temperature area.
  4. The simplest way is to use our series of high temperature lighting fixtures directly.

In addition, based on our experience, we have some tips for you.

  • It is recommended to use a tempered glass panel, which is resistant to high temperature. In high temperature occasions with a lot of oil pollution, the oil pollution adheres to the PC lens, and the heat of the lighting fixture cannot be dissipated, and there is a risk of burning the LED chips.
  • In high temperature places with high water vapor, it is recommended to use lighting fixtures with good airtight structure and with vent.
  • Please use high temperature resistant wires. Except for external wires, other wires should be placed in a closed cavity.
